Spelling Lesson

So I was in China a couple of years ago. A week in Shanghai (pics to come) and a week in Beijing. While I was there, you would not believe the things I learned about the English language. It's true that no one in the country speaks the language (despite the fact that the next summer olympics are due to be held in Beijing aka Peking), but they do (for whatever reason) make the attempt to have even the most remote areas signed in our lovely western langua franca.

Here is a shot (I still cannot believe I took this picture) from the most accessable part of the Great Wall of China:

Now begins the English lesson. This, and others like it were no small source of mirth for me and my travelling companions:

At least they are trying to let us know it's dangerous. Not like you're going to get anywhere if you fall off the Wall and break your glasses...I somehow don't think the government in Beijing is going to have much sympathy for your lawsuit.

Sweet! Does this mean you'll be popping over for round two with a bit of the Wall later this summer? :~) I'll letchya sleep in my tent even! Of course that means I'd have to sleep outside, as there's not even room in my tent for my pack! :~)
